Before we moved to Florida, my husband was a music major at Indiana University Southeast.  His favorite class, as well of most of his friends’ favorite, was Music Theory.  I hence dubbed them the Music Theory Geeks. :)  They liked to make jokes about French Augmented Sixths, and discuss things such as Picardy thirds and chromatic mediants. Yeah, I know, Greek to me too. :)

Scott was one of this group, and since we’ve moved back to the area we’ve been so glad to reconnect with him and his wife, Jennifer.  Jennifer was also a music major at IUS, and is quite an accomplished pianist.  This past July they had Rachel Elizabeth, and I’m so honored I got to photograph their new family of 3. :)

Sweet baby Rachel. :)

Tambra’s favorite. :)

Shepherd, who couldn’t be any sweeter or more protective of Rachel.

They’re so sweet together. :)

My favorite of the day.

Congratulations again on your baby girl, and I’m so glad we live close now. :)

Everyone may as well admit it, we’ve all either been or are addicted to Facebook.  I check mine WAY too often!  But how awesome is it to keep up with friends/family you don’t get to see because life gets busy or reconnect with friends you haven’t seen in years?!?!  This is the case with Kandi and I.  We went to high school together, and soon after I got married and moved to Louisville.  Years later on Facebook Kandi and I “friended” each other and I found out she did the same thing!  Small world, huh?  :)  Kandi and her husband have recently opened their hearts and home to Miss Kanda.

And this is Kanda :)  She’s sassy!

Vanessa’s view from a bicycle wheel!

Our morning started with the early service at church, which didn’t get very far until the power went out!  So Vanessa, Joy (our friend/bride from December/awesome assistant), and I headed to our favorite local coffee shop before heading downtown to Glassworks for Joel & Amanda’s wedding.  Joel (a coworker of my husband’s) started the day getting ready at his friend’s condo.

Joel and his best man…this face is so Joel!

While I was with the guys, Vanessa was at the hotel with Amanda and her girls.

Nothing like a little hairspray :)

Then on to Glassworks…

Our handsome groom…

…and our beautiful bride!

Joel & Amanda chose to do a First Look.  Can’t tell you how much we love that!

Rooftop pictures with a perfect sky?  Yes, please :)

How sweet are these two? :)

They couldn’t be happier!

Joel & Amanda, we were so honored to be part of your day!  We wish you all the happiness in the world!  :)

So, it’s been anything but a lazy summer here!  Between the two of us we’ve had church camp, VBS, massive amounts of car trouble, family that was flooded, and everything in between!  We were so happy to get back to normal this week and get behind the camera!

Joel and Amanda are getting married Sunday at Glassworks in Louisville.  Can not tell you how excited we are to be shooting there with this awesome couple!  We started our engagement shoot at Cherokee Park…after getting lost a few times until Joel finally found us!

Hello, pretty tree!

Great couple, great light :)

A quick stop by a coffee shop…

…then to the Waterfront…

…for this sunset!

Before we went to the coffee shop, we ran through a bookstore.  Joel grabbed a book off the shelf and opened it to a page that had been ripped out!  I was testing the lighting and just happened to get this hilarious shot!  :)

Can’t wait for Sunday!

It must be the year to get new puppies!  First Vanessa gets Sasha, then our friend Joy (who was also our bride from December) got her new pup Daisy.  Then in the same weekend that we welcomed Belle into our family, our friends the Noland’s welcomed their new pup Sadie!

Meet Miss Belle, our new Brittany Spaniel!

She had a blast playing outside with Kayde!

The kids are in love.  :)

This photo stood out to me today. It was taken about this time last year, on our family farm in Indiana. It takes me back to how summer used to feel as a kid. Here’s hoping we can all find that feeling again this summer!

A while back I blogged about Miss Addison turning 2 at the same time her Mama was about have Mr. Cason.  Cason graced us with his presence the end of November.  I finally met him when the husband, the kids, and I went to Pike Co. for our post-Christmas visit!  And of course I took my camera along and did a little newborn shoot.  :)

First up…the new family of 4!

My favorite :)

Friends

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Last Thursday Adam & I were driving past the pet shop. The sign read “Husky mix puppies”. Last Friday we stopped ‘Just to look’. Ha ha. :)

Meet Sasha:

After several bad experiences with our last dog, who had severe separation anxiety, we were a little gun shy about getting another. But we now know what to look for, and I’m so happy to have this beautiful girl. :)

For anyone who may be out there wondering, we’re still around! :) It’s been a long, cold winter with not many shooting opportunities, that’s for sure! But now the sun has reappeared, and there are exciting things in the works for Urban Hills Photography. We have a new website in development, and our calendar is beginning to fill in with sessions!

We are so looking forward to what 2010 has in store for us, and hope you’ll stick around and enjoy it with us!

And because everything is more fun with pictures, here’s one of me and my husband from Valentine’s Day. :)
